WOCFEST – The Wolseley Owners Club Festival Weekend 2014

Despite the wind and rain from the tail end of Hurricane Bertha on Sunday 10th August, the Wolseley Owners Club Festival (WOCFEST) went ahead as planned.

Although shorter on numbers than expected due to the weather, 32 Wolseley models were present at the FEST plus a lovely Morris Oxford, alongside the Guest of Honour, Harris Mann, British Car Designer, who amongst other cars, designed the Wolseley 18-22 ‘Wedge’ and the TR7.

The rest of the WOCFEST weekend went very well, with members arriving from far and wide on Friday evening for a BBQ at The Antelope Inn.

On Saturday, members took an enjoyable run to the Coventry Transport Museum before returning for an evening Buffet.

Sunday brought WOCFEST to its main event at The Heritage Motor Centre, Gaydon, where amongst the many Wolseleys on display, Harris Mann brought along colleague John Stark, part of the Colour and Trim Group at British Leyland at the time.

Also present was Anders Clausager, author and 35 years a professional historian and archivist in motor industry museums and local Kineton Amateur Dramatic Society (KADS) who depicted Wolseley people throughout the ages.

Vice President Anne Heywood said “this was our first annual get-together. Many thanks to our members, of which over 90 attended, our Guest of Honour and his colleague, KADS and the team for attending. It was a great day”.
