Practical Classics Restoration and Classic Car Show 2015

Over the weekend of 28-29th March the Wolseley Owners Club attended the Practical Classics Restoration Show at the NEC, actively stripping a Series III – 14/60.

On the club stand, we had member Chris’s 1960’s Hornet on, which featured at the Restoration show in early 2014 and has now had more work undertaken on it by Chris. Club Officer Charlie had his stunning restored 1930’s Hornet on the stand and new members Nathan and Emma had their restored elegant 1940’s 14/60 on the stand, which has featured in the film ‘Yanks’. Club Officer Nick also had his restoration 14/60 on the stand and the team – Nathan, David, Membership Director, Charlie, Nick, Phillip, Chairman and Chris worked on it over the weekend, stripping it, ready for paint spraying next week. It was great to see more new members joining the club.

The Wolseley Owners Club team on the stand, visiting members and guests, Club Patron and member Harris Mann and motoring historian, author and club member Anders Clausager, had a great time at the Practical Classics Restoration and Classic Car Show over the weekend. There was approximately 500 cars and around 100 classic car clubs, a very large autojumble, the Practical Classics Live Stage with a restoration, celebrity interviews and much more. There was also an ‘Ask the Experts’ stage, Heritage Insurance Barn Find Display, The Workshop with the team from Leeds College, Auctions and much else to visit.

We visited and chatted to the Austin Cambridge Westminster Car Club (ACWCC) who were just opposite the WOC stand – had a chat with Chairman Jeffrey, Secretary Paul and team, Hagerty Classic Car Insurance, Heritage Classic Car Insurance, Lancaster Insurance, Metex Car Covers, Morris Register – Chairman John and his team, who have invited us to their National Rally in August this year, Practical Classics Magazine, Project Jay Preservation Group, Reliant Owners Club, Stewart Miller and Peter James Insurance, The Veteran Car Club of Great Britain, The Leyland Princess Club – chatted with Kev Davis, Club President and members – they had some very nice restorations on the stand.

We look forward to the next show at the NEC in November.
