North East Lunch – 14th April 2013

On Sunday 14th April 2013, a group of 17 Northern and other members met at The Morritt Arms Hotel for Lunch, at the picturesque Greta Bridge in County Durham, North East England.

Many well known artists and writers have visited The Morritt over the years; Charles Dickens being one of these.

The Lunch was superb and enjoyed by all. Well worth a visit. In spite of a windy and rainy day, two members arrived in their Wolseleys – a 16/60 and a 4/44.

Attached to The Morritt is the ‘Garage Spa’, which used to be a working garage in the 1920’s and repaired the new ‘horseless carriages’ or motorcars, of guests travelling between Scotland and London.

We wondered if the Garage had serviced and maintained any Wolseleys in its time?!

The Garage was transformed last year into a new Spa. We were tempted to try the Spa packages and treatments of a ‘Classic MOT’ or the ‘Oil Facial Change’.

Perhaps next time. A wonderful afternoon.
