Classic and Performance Car Spectacular

Classic and Performance Car Spectacular and Cheshire Autojumble, Tatton Park, 31 May – 1 June 2014

A brilliant weekend was had by all Wolseley Owners Club members at Tatton Park over the weekend, receiving three awards between the Club and members cars.

The club had 29 members cars on the stand over the weekend, including a huge variety of Wolseleys from 1934 to 1969, one classic Jaguar, an Austin and a Triumph Herald, all of which drew much attention under the glorious weather.

Over 70 members, partners and friends visited the stand, it was very busy. The club breakfasts and BBQ’s on both days were hailed a great success, so too were the very welcome cups of tea and coffee on offer all weekend.

The Wolseley Owners Club was awarded a plaque for the 6th best club stand out of the 87 clubs attending on Saturday 31st May at Tatton Park, Knutsford, Cheshire, and another member was awarded a trophy for his lovely classic Jaguar on the club stand on the same day.

Steve Darnell, club member, was awarded a trophy 2nd prize ‘Best Luxury Saloon Car’, for his beautiful 1934 Wolseley 21/60 on Sunday 1st June. Features of this very elegant Wolseley include Startix (automatic start) along with selectable manual or automatic clutch operation.

Over the weekend on our club stand, we exhibited 2 x Series III – 25hp Limousines, 1 x Series II – 25hp saloon, 1 x Series III – 25hp saloon, 1 x 21/60, 2 x 1300, 2 x 4/44, 1 x Wasp, 1 x Eight, 1 x New Ten, 1 x 1500 Mk II, 1 x Series III – 18/85, 2 x 16/60, 1 x salmon bodied Wolseley Hornet Special, 1 x 12/48 (new member, not on the stand on this occasion), along with a classic Jaguar, an Austin and a Triumph Herald.

The Club team would like to say a big thank you to everyone who attended and for all the help given by our members, which helped to make the weekend the great success it was. Thank you to club members Margaret and Geoff, Terry and Linda and Kevin who brought along biscuits and home-made cakes to the stand to enjoy. Linda’s very large ‘Red Velvet’ cake, once opened on the Sunday, was gone in 5 minutes!

The Cheshire Auto Promotions Classic and Performance Car Spectacular and Cheshire Autojumble at Tatton Park in North West England, had something for everyone with the huge two day autojumble with over 200 stalls, amongst a variety of other general trade stalls. Music entertainment, food and drinks were also available.

A big thank you to Stuart Holmes, Exhibits Organiser and his excellent team in addition for all their help and great organisation over the weekend.

We look forward to seeing everyone again on the club stand on 16th and 17th August, later in the year, when we are back again at Tatton for the second show of the year there.
