25th Ardingly Vintage and Classic Vehicle Show

25th Ardingly Vintage and Classic Vehicle Show 2013

Over the hot and sunny weekend of 13th and 14th July 2013 at Ardingly in the South East of England, the Wolseley Owners Club displayed 31 cars on the club stand. Visitors and other car club exhibitors were presented with a full display of Wolseley cars ranging from 1922 to 1975.

The Wolseley Tombola and the WOC balloon tree both proved to be a huge success, whilst members and visitors alike were able to take shade in the club gazebo for either a hot beverage from the tea urn, or a chilled water from the fridge – both were kept topped up and running on the Saturday and Sunday along with light nibbles available throughout the day.

With fifteen cars displayed on the Saturday and sixteen Wolseleys displayed on the Sunday, the public were able to peruse a wide variety of Wolseley cars on our club stand on both days which took pride of place at the entrance to the main car club stand area of the Ardingly showground, over 80 members attended over the weekend.

Over the weekend on our club stand we exhibited a 1922 Wolseley E3 Ten, two Hornets, Wasp, Series II 12/48Series III 14/60, 4/44, 15/50, 15/60, two 16/60s, 1100, 1300, two 6/110s, two 18/85s, and two Sixes.

Many thanks go to South East contacts Colin and Julie French, for organising the entire weekend which saw WOC team members arriving on Thursday and leaving on Monday. A large marquee and camping area was provided for Wolseley Owners Club members to gather in the evening and for early arrivals to be supplied with a daily bacon & egg barm for breakfast by our busy host Julie.

Saturday night saw Colin brave the heat of the barbeque allowing those members stopping overnight to feast on expertly cooked sausages, burgers, and more!

Thanks also to Mr & Mrs Wiltshire, organisers of the Car Club section, for helping with the smooth arrangements of the weekend and for accompanying four of our Wolseley cars to take part in the main display arena on the Sunday. Again thanks to Horsham Historics for organising the Ardingly show in its entirety – a magnificent event!
